Darkwave juggernaut Straight Razor has released his brand-new single ‘Black Smoke Rising’. Released in-time for the spookiest season of the year, the single combines hard and heavy and dirty synths, self-described haunting vocals, and generally something that’ll fit well in your next Goth night out. Straight Razor fights his inner demons on the track in attempt to produce a raw emotion. You can stream the music video below.
Straight Razor is Omar Doom. Before appearing in Tarantino’s films Inglorious Basterds and Death Proof, Omar Doom spent his time with his first true love: music. And after appearing in those films he regained his passion for heavy beats and returned to his roots. He has developed a bit of a cult following after releasing his self-titled STRAIGHT RAZOR Vol 1. and Vol. 2. He even went out on his own and created his own record label, DOOM VISION, and released the remix companion EP to STRAIGHT RAZOR.
‘Black Smoke Rising’ comes off of STRAIGHT RAZOR’s forthcoming album “Casualty”, which is due out on December 13th, 2024. Doom will be hosting a launch party on December 15th, 2024 at The Echo in Los Angeles, before embarking on a world tour supporting VNV Nation on February 5th, 2025.
