Cervello Elettronico and Leaether Strip Releases New Album Under Torture Gallery
This duo is like Captain Planet except instead of a group of eco-defenders summoning them to fight against earth-polluters it’s an odd bunch of latex fetishist goths asking them to perform at their local dungeon or club and to keep the beats coming. And that’s what they’re doing with their most recent release Opening Wounds Of The Shocking Truth coming from the revered label Hands. Promising cold analogue touched and rough industrial responses that goes beyond what either act commits solo, the album is available to stream / purchase now in both digital and CD format.
a place both wonderful and strange release new album Matter and Desire
If I knew anything about David Lynch and Twin Peaks aside from his name and his production I’d probably have something a little silly to throw in here, alas I don’t as I’ve never watched the show nor the movies that followed. What I can say is that it’s damned good to see a place both wonderful and strange back in full force. It’s a bit sentimental and maybe even nostalgic at this point but this band was probably one of the ones I featured a bunch in my first couple of years writing for Brutal. Nearly a decade of silence follows what might be their magnum opus, Matter and Desire. Released via Re:Mission Entertainment, the album is now available in digital and physical copies.
Sleep of Mirrors to release new album Crown via Negative Gain
This project is making music that belongs in those nightclubs from the cult classic video game Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodline. Deep gothic beats meeting techno. What Sleep of Mirrors promises is something cinematic. Something atmospheric. Something both ritualistic yet danceable. Hypnotic. While I can’t say for sure whether this’ll hold up entirely in the end as I haven’t listened to the whole thing (out soon on May 8th) it’s certainly shaping up to be that way.
The Joy Thieves Release Music Video / Single The Wrong End of Your Rifle
The Joy Thieves, that is primarily Dan Milligan and James Scott, have released a brand new single / music video with some dude named Chris Connelly. Jokes, people, jokes. Anyway, the single features Connelly on vocals shouting frustration at billionaires and corporations and all those other people who can do what they want without consequence. In an ultimately dystopian theme, the single envisions a future where violence is a product, something for entertainment, content. The Wrong End of Your Rifle comes off of Apocalypse Pending which is due out on June 5th via Armalyte Industries.
MeDenom Releases Repossession Vol I
Spoken word artist and poet MeDenom has released her latest EP Repossession Vol I. The EP is an outlet addressing pain and grief from her past which she explores through music, through shouts, through song and various genres. MeDenom spoke on the album and stated, “”It’s the idea of taking oneself back after an introspective review of a lifetime of overbearing resentments, fears and shortcomings. I have experienced a sort of repossession of my being, lead by my conception of God. As time progresses my spiritual connection evolves. I am no longer possessed by my former self but instead, I am possessed by my spiritual experiences.” Repossession Vol I is available now in digital formats.
Athamay Announces New Album Necropolis
Way back in 1996 I was but a wee, wee lad. Whilst I was still learning the English language and how to exist as a proper gent Athamay, under its old line-up, released their 1996 album Pleasure of Sin featuring a couple of club hits which were unbeknownst to me till now titled Kiss the Whip, Falling and Eternal Torture. Contractual issues arose, a side-project called Torturetekk came and went, other demos never came to fruition. Then 2025 came and Athamay was reborn with the album The Cruxifiction and Resurrection which hit the No.1 spot on the DAC. And they’re continuing on that path in 2026 with their latest album Necropolis. Due out on May 1st, 2026, you can stream the album below.
