You know Lizzie Borden? Yeah? Imagine if she was a modern goth posing for album art and BAM. You have the cover art of industrial pop and darkwave artist Miss Trezz’s most recent album Rebel Muse. Borden and unverified comparisons aside, Rebel Muse is as much a danceable seven track release as it is an emotional and powerful release that “transforms vulnerability into authority and survival into sovereignty.”
Miss Trezz seeks not to let the past envelope her but to become reforged into an invulnerable tank bulky enough to plow through thick barricades and smash burly blockades. Or in her own lyrics found on Fade Into Black, ““I was the wound, now I’m the blade, built from the scars that you made.” Speaking of which, there’s a music video for that which you can stream directly below.
In some closing words on the album, Miss Trezz ultimately stated that the album “is about rebelling against anything that doesn’t resonate with authenticity. It’s about not apologizing for who you are, not conforming to the patriarchy, and not allowing the past to govern who you become.”
Rebel Muse is out now via Re:Mission Entertainment in both digital and limited edition CD formats. You can grab your copy HERE.
