Walking out like she just took out Baron Harkonnen himself and took over the dunes and spice trade for her own needs, Cyberpunk and science-fiction queen Celina has released a brand-new single and accompanying music video Obsidian. Joining her for the song is Leslie Young on guitar as Celina pours her heart out on an electro-industrial foundation with influences from a bit of Gothic rock. At its core, Obsidian is all about turning grief and pain into power; rather than wasting away you can transform negativity into something else. In this case that negativity has been transformed into an empowering song. Check it out below.
Speaking on the single Celina had this to say:
I think the world needs this now, more than ever. We really need to start building a castle made of scraps what we find in our soul. Rather than portraying sadness or collapse, the video explores transformation – the way pain can be infused into resilience, suffering can become a form of power. Blending darkness, texture and atmosphere with a modern alternative edge, the visual language of “Obsidian” reflects the duality at the heart of the track — fragility and force, suffering and self-possession, shadow and light. It is a world built not only to be seen, but to be felt.
