Industrial Musician Le Destroy Announces TTRPG Trashumanism

You know, it’s pretty neat when I can bridge the gap between two of my favorite hobbies of all time, those being tabletop RPGs and industrial music. Rare is the moment when I can feed both at the same time but there’s been a couple of late-night gaming sessions where I was able to use some of my favorite music, be it cinematic or club beats, as background music to a high-stakes-combat where a roll of the die means life or death for my, or the players’, characters. I suppose industrial artist Le Destroy has the exact same thing in mind as she’s just announced a brand-new TTRPG Trashumanism.

Trashumanism is a TTRPG utilizing The Resistance Toolbox created by Rowan, Rook, and Decard which has powered their own TTRPGs Spire and Heart. I am completely unfamiliar with this system but Trashumanism seems to have a couple of mechanics going for it; shared stress between player characters, recruiting new NPC allies that come with their own shared abilities and skills, a clock system to determine how long players have to overcome an obstacle (and give them a sense of dread as the clock ticks closer to zero), and so much more.

What’s neat about Trashumanism is that it’s not just confined to a TTRPG; Le Destroy is using this to launch a multi-media story. Along with the game, Le Destroy will be launching a graphic novel and a physical copy of her 2024 album which all share the same title. Considering Le Destroy had some amazing collaborative singles that were featured on the Cyberpunk 2077 official soundtrack, I don’t think this is going to be something that you should skip on. The Trashumanism album has also been produced and mixed by Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle alumni Danny Lohner, so that’s always a plus.

Trashumanism has launched on GameFound and can be ordered HERE. There are several reward tiers available including a tier where you can create your own NPC. Which I think is pretty dope. The game is already funded at this moment in time with several stretch goals in site.
