My Frozen Heart Industrial Rock The Fair Attempts This review was commissioned through Ko-fi. However, it bears no weight on the score or decision. All reviews are written from an unbiased standpoint. After the release of “Signals” in November of 2021, The Fair Attempts had retreated to their studio once more. In the shadowy scenes, the gas mask wearing project built a new empire out of the bones of industrial rock. So far, this has culminated in the industrial rock single ‘My Frozen Heart’, a frantic industrial rock dance track that’ll get your feet moving. My Frozen Heart by The Fair AttemptsA little over three minutes, frontman Friendly Timo stated that he was inspired by the world after Covid. He said, “The world around us seems to be teeming with all kinds of conflicts and crises that potentially continue to create even more conflicts. In the dystopian story of TFA, mankind finds itself in a state of the world brought on by constant conflict. I wanted to depict a state of soul and mind of a person in the middle of it all. Some of us live in a constant state of conflict even within ourselves."So, what we get is a pretty fun and jumpy track. The beginning of the song begins with a fiery electro bassline before jumping into grating vocals, and a four on the floor rhythm backed by guitars. The song warps between frantic dance sections and quiet, electro bits that do a lot to keep the pace broken up. I especially loved some of the backing synths that gave it an elevated feeling. Nothing more to really say here, except that it’s another good snippet at The Fair Attempts’ work. Seven-and-a-half out of ten.  450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
