Street Sects announces new side project Street Sex, double album

You know I’ve always imagined that every fan of Street Sects had to explain to one person or another that the band they were listening to was called Street Sects and not Street Sex. I know this as I’ve had to do this multiple times in the past and it’s always a good time that usually ends with a bit of a giggle. The giggle may still be there moving forth as Street Sects have officially announced their brand-new project Street Sex along with two brand-new full length albums for each respective project.

The debut album of Street Sex Full Color Eclipse has its first single streaming as of right now and one fan on Bandcamp described the album as “A slightly different vehicle, slightly different ride” which is something I wholeheartedly agree with. Rather than focusing on noise and noisy hardcore punk elements Street Sex seems to be leaning into harsh dance music with an edge. A bit of synthpop maybe and a healthy dose of industrial mechanics. As opposed to Street Sects this single might get people dancing rather than moshing…Or a bit of both.

On the flip side Street Sects has also announced their new album Dry Drunk. As of right now Splitting Images is the single available for streaming. If you’ve heard Street Sects in the past you’ve heard them now though I do think their sound is more refined than ever is Splitting Images is anything to go by. The horrifically dreadful cover art makes a grand return and is something straight out of a horror movie. In any event I’m excited for this.

Now, if that wasn’t enough to get your panties wet Street Sects / Sex has also released a split music video for both songs currently streaming which is animated and is a huge trip. Those who have been following the artwork that’s been present within Street Sects work since the beginning will find something to love here. You can stream the video below.
