Monsters Around Us : GlassCannon

Ah, The Shining. What a wonderful film. And also a band, a band that I only know of because a couple of my friends are metalheads AND I used to work at a music store and we supplied their CDs. What does The Shining have to do with a post about Australian industrial metal act Monsters Around Us, however? Well, even if you didn’t ask, I’m sure as hell glad that I asked because I’m going to answer that question. Monsters Around Us has tapped into the power of Jørgen Munkeby to play the sax and additional synths on his latest single ‘GlassCannon’. Didn’t even know the dude could do so, but he can, and he fucking RIPS on the single. You can stream it directly below.

The video above is described as “an ode to classic science fiction and body horror films from the 80s and 90s using modern tech.” Where are my Tetsuo fans at? This single is but a piece of a trilogy releasing as an EP titled “The Regulator” on January 17th, 2025. You can pre-order it HERE.
