If Your Man Isn’t Wooing You To Laibach on the Dancefloor, Dump Him

Every scene has a couple of romance songs that just make that one couple (or weird conglomerate of people who like to touch each other) absolutely start smooching on the dancefloor in a bewilderment of booze, excitement, and thoughts of future buttfucking. The emos have Jimmy Eat World, metalheads can listen to Type O Negative’s ‘Love You To Death’, and I can’t even name the amount of pop and R&B songs that are all about love and romance and the like. The same can’t be said for the industrial scene; usually the artists in the scene don’t sing about love, but the opposite. Break-ups, how a divorce ruined their life, and how they just can’t get over that one guy or girl who left them when they were teenagers. But not anymore.

Laibach, the absolute legends that they are, just dropped a cover of Foreigner’s song ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’. And believe me when I say that this version is better than the original. I can only imagine laying in bed as the little spoon with Milan Fras caressing my bosom singing to me the exact words of this song. His silky smooth vocals sending me to a place beyond the material plane and into the depths of heart and soul.

But, seriously, this is a pretty good, fun cover that I would argue is a bit better than the original. It has everything that makes Laibach, well, Laibach in it and there are a couple of different versions. I prefer the Extended version, personally.

To tie this little news piece up: if you’re ever on the industrial dancefloor and this song plays and your man doesn’t woo you…Dump him. He’s not the right one. There’s another black leather jacket clad person out there for you – he’s just not the one.
