Damage Doomcore, Industrial Hardcore Sei2ure Jan Kamphuis aka Sei2ure is a very prolific name in the Dutch industrial hardcore scene. having a degree in music he certainly has the skills to make kick ass music, and he does just that. I played with him a few times, and he is also a very nice and relaxed guy. His new EP on Dark.Descent concentrates on slower material. A lot of his stuff is the usual 170 BPM and up, and on this EP he stays in somewhat slower paces. Dark.Descent is a label which concentrates on slower material, so he probably keeps the fast stuff for labels like Industrial Strength, Genosha or PRSPCT. Hardstyle seems to be an influence on this EP, but he does it the same way The Outside Agency did on the track "Strangers" on the album they recently released on Ad Noiseam. Kick out all the anthem detuned supersaws and concentrate on harsh kicks and weird breaks. Opener "Satisfy" has the most hardstyle influences, and builds up from an more traditional style towards a break with metal vocals, and then builds up more into overdrive. "Opposition" is a very catchy industrial hardstyle track with a good groove. "Checkmate" delivers a more Doomcore approach with the heavy drone bass humming in the background and the dark atmospheres. Closer "Vengeance" stays closer to a more Rhythmic noise sound with influences from dark techno. A varied EP, but all 4 tracks will work great on dancefloors and are interesting enough for your own slamming party in the living room. Jan manages to make another fantastic EP. His first two EP's on Dark.Descent. were also frequent visitors in my DJ sets, and this goes for the tracks on this EP as well. Sei2ure is a name not to be missed if you are into the Dutch industrial sound. 550
