Hallows – Wear You Out

OUT OF 10

We the people have been summoned with another impressive single from LA’s purveyors of fine dark electronics with the single “Wear You Out” The single is a mere harbinger to the greater package, the next offering before the new album Dream is finally going to pre-order for an early summer release on Artoffact Records.

“Wear You Out” stays true to Hallows’ previous work, however this time we get a sense of warmth with some Italo and New Beat influences gently woven into moody rhythms set to the intimate theme of a relationship succumbing to human frailties and cognitive dissonance. As Dom bounces and starts thrashing away on the hardware, Vanee twists and turns while using her celestial voice as an unyielding catalyst to tell the story of human emotion and psychological responses. The way Dom and Vanee work together regardless of what role they play from track to track demonstrates their cohesive intangible that defines them as people as well as artists.

The highly anticipated new album Dream is up for pre-order now on beautiful pink vinyl, CD and digital for a June 5th release date on the Artoffact label out of Canada. For the cassette fiends, Phage Tapes has you covered. Go to Hallows Bandcamp page for more information on everything Hallows.

I know Dream will be a contender for many top 10’s come December 2026. Hallows always raises the bar with each subsequent release. If the past dictates the future, then I am quite sure I nailed it on this one!
