Voix in the Dark releases cover of Vanity 6's 'Make-Up'

Philadelphia artist Voix in the Dark has released a cover of Vanity 6's single 'Make-up'. The original song was originally written by Prince but was first released commercially by Vanity 6 in 1982. Prince's demo of 'Make-Up' was first unveiled in the posthumous album "Originals", which contained fourteen previously unreleased songs. Vanity 6's take on the song was no doubt ahead of its time, echoing many elements of industrial / experimental music that would begin to take the stage in the 1980s. 

Voix in the Dark, otherwise known for his nickname as The Fresh Prince of Darkness (a nickname that gave me a good chuckle) stated that he crafted a "hypnotic analog style of production while adding distinctive elements. The vocals share a seductive kinship with the original versions but add a rigid undertone with pitch layering." In addition to the single, Voix in the Dark allied with Brooklyn DJ and producer Reena to remix his cover. In turn, they deliver a bass filled, club-ready single.
