Production company The Soft Machine has announced the final two dates for its mini-tour Flesh Rituals & Siren Songs. This event series combines industrial, gothic, and alternative bands with shibari, fetish, and erotic performance art.
Founded by Sai Lillith of industrial / goth band ZCluster and Shibari ritual collective Infernal Desire Machine, Lillith’s passion for dark and heavy music, performance art, and BDSM led Lillith to create The Soft Machine. Inspiration for this comes from Ministry’s In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up live video, the Jim Roade Sideshow, and an explicit performance Lillith saw in the early 00s involved a naked performer covered in rice, a paintbrush handle, soy sauce, and paper. Lillith stated about the moment, “I was delighted by everything about this; the lack of shame, the sheer audacity, and the deeply erotic approach to life experience and it suck in my head forever.”
The Soft Production is proud to welcome in its stable Lillith’s own shibari suspension performance as ZCluster, Cheap Coffins collaborating with flesh artists, erotic dancers, rituals, performances from Mistress Tokyo, Infernal Desire Machine, Precipice, fire dancing, and more from the likes of Buzz Kull and Dane Blacklock & the Preacher’s Daughter.
The Soft Machine also keeps pay ethical, providing sliding scale tickets for attendees and profit sharing with all artists involved. The final two tour dates are listed below. Check it out.
