Unfortunately OWLS is not, in fact, run by a bunch of folktale-inspiring fluffy birds who are both cute and adorable but also menacing looking at the same time. Instead OWLS is a producer from Longford, Ireland whose sole goal is to create moody darkwave music and he seems to be doing just that with his brand-new single Give Me Your Stare. Meant to be dark (obviously) and provocative Give Me Your Stare is that tell-tale sign of wanting love and romance but knowing the inherent risks and dangers that come with it. Ya never know when you’re gonna meet a serial killer halfway thing. Maybe not to that extreme but that’s where I’m taking it. After all, art is meant to be interpreted and this is mine. Give Me Your Stare comes off of OWLS’ forthcoming album Death Games due out on June 6th, 2025. And don’t let the initial song hint at anything else aside from more goth things to come. With titles such as Perfect Nightmare and Send Me To My Grave I’m sure the album will be lighting the floors of your local goth speakeasy sometime soon.
