Comaduster returns after five year hiatus with two-track release Black Sun Rays + Wavelike

After a five year hiatus following the release of his critically acclaimed album Darker Matter released via FiXT, Comaduster has made an independent return with two bold singles titled BLACK SUN RAYS and WAVELIKE due to release in full on April 15th. The singles comes off of his forthcoming album MEMORY ECHOES which is due out in early 2025. While I could attempt to explain exactly what MEMORY ECHOES is about Comaduster does it so much better that I can’t even attempt to interpret what the album is about. Without further ado you can stream the singles below and follow after for Comaduster’s explanation.

Speaking on the album Comaduster had this to say: MEMORY ECHOES ties into our universe forever altered by a cosmic event—an inflationary phenomenon akin to the Big Bang that suddenly expands the universe well beyond the speed of light. The event leaves behind a frozen lattice of everything that was, a fractured skeleton where time, space, and the fundamental laws of the universe warp along chaotic trajectories. This framework serves as a lens for exploring themes of human connection, identity, and communication under surreal and often haunting conditions.

Currently WAVELIKE is up for streaming with BLACK SUN RAYS to debut on release day. This is the single that I am anticipating much more as it has one of the most in-demand vocalists from the scene on it Mari Kattman. In any event this is probably going to wind up being one of the contenders for album of the year so keep your eyes and ears on it.
