The first time I saw Nitzer Ebb live was during their reunion tour of 2006 at the Arvika festival, so it was about time to see them again, but this time not at the biggest stage at a festival, rather a more intimate concert venue.

The opening act was Top Gun (currently signed to Electric Fantastic Sound), but that was unknown to me and to a lot of people I asked about what band it was, so somebody did a hiccup in the promotion section. No information on the website, nothing. However, Top Gun did a good job with their catchy bass filled electro pop and got the audience excited for the main act (even though the DJ, Tobbe from ex Romo Night, managed to destroy it by playing sleezy guitar pop music between Top Gun and Nitzer Ebb).

About half past ten McCarthy (that of course was wearing his characteristic sun glasses) with crew entered the stage at Brewhouse, a venue that was filled to the max. Nitzer Ebb did not disappoint in any way and they really delivered. The show was professional, tight and overall very well performed without any mistakes. They crowd really exploded during the tracks "Let Your Body Learn", "Murderous" and "Join in the Chant" from 'That Total Age' (1987), but we also got to hear great tracks like "Control I'm Here", "Shame", "Hearts and Minds" and "Blood Money" from 'Belief' (1989). The crowd really loved it, sang along and had the time of their life. There was more or less no talking between the songs and they kept it clean which made the performance very smooth going, but a little bit sad for the audience. Still, it really showed that Nitzer Ebb loved to be back in Gothenburg after so many years.

After a Nitzer Ebb been cheered in again by the crowed, and yelled "Skååål" back at the audience (Cheers in Swedish) they finished it all off with "Getting Closer" and "I Give to You". The gig overall was not too long, not too short, just perfect.

Well done and I can't wait to see them again or why not another gig with Fixmer/McCarthy? That would be awesome as well.
