During the years I've seen quite a mass of live performances, most interesting acts I've even seen many times and it's getting quite boring not to experience anything new. Then something happened, Leæther Strip decided to come to town and I couldn't have been happier, since I've listen to his work for ten years now and never got to see it performed live.

This performance at Club Target the 2nd of May was a small exclusive gig with pre-ordered tickets only and only 200 tickets where released. It's a small venue (200 is max capability) and even one hour before the concert started, the air was thick and all oxygen was MIA.

Close to midnight, Claus entered the stage in his solo presence with all his laptops, synthesizers and drum pads. Some weeks before this show a track called "Gothenburg Noir" was released on the Club Target homepage and of course this track was used as the introduction and also as Claus hymn of love to the city. The crowd was excited and when the first few notes of "Don't tame your soul" started, we all went nuts. Between each song there was a short instrumental part before the next song started and Claus really delivered some goodies; "Nose Candy", "Strap Me Down", "Evil Speaks", "Fit For Flogging", "Angelmaker" and many more. There was no doubt that he had the time of his life and you could really see the joy in his face. The sound was raw and his voice was powerful, just the way we wanted it. I was a bit surprised that he didn't play so much from his latest release 'Angelmaker', but then again, I can't complain since I got to hear long time favourites.

After about one hour Leæther Strip left the stage, but the crowd didn't want to let him go without an encore. We got a great combination track between "Kill A Raver", "Sex Dwarf" and "Burning Oil", simply nothing less than magic.

The only complains I have is about the venue. It's too small to have this kind of performance and the sound level was close to painful, but the performance in itself was just perfect.
