One of the most glorious things about the INTRODUCING series is that it allows me to quickly find out all the relevant information about a band that might either obscure or just not readily available on the internet, even more so when that band is one that I’ve never heard about before. Case in point, we have SINA MATIX, an industrial project that has a thousand different influences and seems to jump from point A to point Z in a split second. Run by Bear Wilder as a solo project, here’s everything they have to say about their project.
Give us a brief about Sina Matix, please. Who are the members and what are your roles? Is there anyone involved other than you?
Sina Matix is just myself, Bear Wilder. I am an innovative visuals and music project that blends Goth, Dark Electro, EBM and Industrial influences with dramatic soundscapes leaving the listener in a field of the unknown.
When did you first launch the project and was it born from other projects?
Launched in 2022. It stemmed from my previous project under the same name, but I did Visual Music. Visual Music from blending Dark Electro with Cinema live.
What bands and artists influenced Sina Matix for the most part and why?
Nine Inch Nails, Assemblage 23, Specimen, Negativland, DEVO, Pink Floyd, David Lynch, Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, Quentin Tarantino, John Watrers and Fad Gadget. Each of these artists are innovators, dramatic and semi-dark to dark in their own ways. They all wanted to take things to the next level and that is what I am trying to do with my artistry.
If you could pick a single song from your discography to explain your music, which song would you pick and why?
That would be incredibly difficult as my music is all over the place. All of my music is Dark Dramatic Electro, my own term. This can result in it being Goth, Darkwave, Ethereal, EBM, Industrial, Deathrock, Aggrotech, Cumbia Wave or Dark Electro. I suppose the one song of mine that would best describe Dark Dramatic Electro would be “Where Did It Go Wrong”.
Is there a central theme that runs through the new single that you’ve addressed in previous releases?
Yes! So, my first EP was called “Cursed” and it was about me moving to Florida and how the first 2 years were some of the most difficult times in my life. Earlier this year, I put out an EP called “ A Dark Place” that had extremely disturbing sounds and lyrics. It was based on my life in early 2026 and how I almost didn’t make it. Fast forward to now, “Killing The Curse” is about how I am rebooting my life after 5 years by ridding myself of the toxins and moving out of the state.
Take us through the genesis of a song or album? Do the lyrics and concept come to you first or do they come about after the music?
I usually end up writing lyrics and concept first and then putting music after. It seems that all of my EPs and future albums are concept pieces. My last EP, “A Dark Place”, was all about getting extremely close to ending it all. If you listen to the whole EP non-stop, you’ll notice that it’s all a seamless loop. The end of every song blends into the next and even the end of the last song blends into the first song. I applied this to provide more of a story type of experience. Also, I just love blending things since I’ve been a DJ since 1999.
What’s your current favorite song, band, or album within your scene? And vice versa, what do you enjoy the most that’s completely opposite of what you make?
I really love almost anything by NIght Club. They have such a great and distinct sound. I love all sorts of music, but I think people might be surprised to learn that I love Big Band, Psytrance and Tech House music. Favorite artists within those genres would be Tommy Dorsey, Captain Hook and Fisher.
What is on the horizon for Sina Matix? Upcoming gigs, tours, merch, videos, etc. Name it, link it, show it off.
Well, I coordinated Killing The Curse to come out the same time as I move out of state. I wanted it to be almost a live song that people could listen to as I was actively doing it. Gigs and tours are a whole other discussion. I had created a hologram show to accompany my music to help tell the story. However, that got scrapped due to everything I was going through earlier this year and last year. So, no shows as of now or maybe ever. I might just be like Wumpscut or Sopor Aeternus and be a studio only band. We will have to wait and see. I’ll put some links below where you can find me online, find my merch and find my videos.
