TaeT Dark Ambient, Drone Vresnit & Kashtriy Every nation has its own roots, connected to the specific history and geographic location. Not many people remember them today, because the magical singularity of the nation is not popular any more in the age of total globalization. Certain customs and cultural segments can be hardly found nowadays, progress and global migration erase them from people's memory. Those social processes are common also for Russian Federation, and can be seen everywhere, in all aspects of modern life. But fortunately, there are few local residents, which raise their head proudly and don't hide their passion for what is counted now as anachronism. Two Russian formations, Vresnit & Kshatriy, combine their efforts to bring the album under the name 'TaeT' through the label Vetvei , based in Yaroslavl. This label gathers few talented artists in its vault, who run their activities in the field of drone ambient music, but most of them are unknown to the wide audience. I have a great opportunity here to sink in the atmosphere of unity of men with nature, which flows out of my headphones. The main constituent of the album is a field recording of the living forest, full of birds twitting, wind blowing inside trees, and all the nature activity around. But in contrast to all those meditation and relaxation CD's, that are so widely spread all around and only ruin the good name of field recordings, this CD doesn't concentrate on the ordinary sound. Of course, the music starts with the natural process, but it slowly evolves into something, that breaks borders of space and sends me into the journey with the river of time. Spatial hum joins the structure to make it much thicker, different acoustic instruments, like flutes, wooden and metal percussion, string instruments, enter the scene to fill the layers with sudden sounds, which doesn't ruin the general atmosphere, but live in symbiosis with symphony of the woods, splashes of clear streams and rustle of grass, waves of hidden lakes, all of them wake up from a long winter sleep. Bit by bit, people enter the forest and bring with them shaman drums, rhythms of distant singing, chants that invoke ancient spirits, worshiped during centuries by ancestors, everybody faces the ritual of joy of life. The forces of fire and water, earth and sky join the choir of mystical natural circulation that creates a bridge between infinite god power and mortal human deeds, washed with the soft flow of spring rain. Everything entwined into the canvas of human unconscious memory, which is much longer than modern history. 550
