Magisterium Electro-Industrial The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse are back once again with a brand new and funky single titled 'Magisterium'. Perhaps my favorite of the bunch they've introduced to the world so far, this dark electro beat driven single features the multi-layered madness the group is becoming known for. A wicked array of trickling background electronics, up front and in your face dribbling electro beats, and a bouncy main bassline all lather up the single. The vocal variation passes between the echoed whispering featured on previous singles as well as a rhythmic, almost hip-hop, lyrical delivery. The five-minute and twenty-one second single has plenty of surprises in store as well. The band speaks best when they say that "the whole sacramental affair is catapulted to an 80s Berlin disco". Best just to listen to find out what they mean by that. A tech-house dub mix of the single comes along with the single, titled 'Magisterium (Radiance)'. And, like most dub mixes, I'm not a huge fan of the single but I can't bash it that much. The song is clear and concise and has an artist's touch behind it. My favorite moments of the song is where it dives into tech influence more than anything else. I also felt as if the seven-minute and twenty-one second length was a bit too much for my tastes. There's not much more to say about the single or to say about The Seven Whores of the Apocalypse that I haven't said already other than that this drops on October 28th. Definitely worth keeping your ears out for! This review was commissioned through our Ko-fi page. 450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
