Darkwave meets EBM meets…DISCO? How scandalous. But that’s exactly what Religion of Heartbreak is doing in their brand-new EP Lunate. This five-track EP is meant to fuel up fog-filled nightclubs where everyone (except that one guy in a button up Hawaiian shirt) is dressed in black. The EP crawls through the very highs of the club scene from dancing and having fun with a drink or two in hand to the lows where everything seems to come crashing down and all your worries and stresses hit your mind once again before being washed away but the ambiance and rhythm of the night. You can stream the EP below and you can nab a copy of one of their limited CDs below.
Religion of Heartbreak is Mikal Shapiro and Dedric. Shapiro’s vox collide with Dedric’s synthetic and icy dub-infected eletro-bass to create darker dancefloor music. While darkwave and EBM are always at the forefront, there’s an overall synthpop vibe that permeates from their music.
