A Murder of Crows announces NYC Gothic / Post-Punk Festival for August 2025

Whenever I see the times and line-up for a festival or string of shows the old man in me yawns and gets cranky and tired and already wants to go to bed before even attending the shows. I suppose that’s why I write on this site and support the industrial / goth scene from behind a screen rather than going out and meeting people and shaking hands and smiling and all that jazz. Either way I always applaud the fine folk out there making a difference and putting on these shows and tours and gigs as it keeps everything moving.

Case in point is NYC promoter, DJ, and presenter of goth club nights Sean Templar. Rather than attempting to reclaim the holy land as his last name might suggest, he instead aims to capture the spirit of underground goth music. Story goes that at Wave Gotik Treffen he and Dave Bats of LA and Martin Oldgoth from London came to the idea at an early afterparty of starting their own little festival. What began as a one-night three-band four-DJ shindig has transformed into a huge festival on its own.

The 2025 edition of A Murder of Crows has a Pre-Party with the main events occurring on the 29th and 30th of August respectively. Plenty of bands will be attending all of which can be seen on the bill pictured above. For more information you can go HERE.

Speaking on A Murder of Crows Templar had this to say:

We had such an incredible time during A Murder of Crows 2024. There was so much love from our tribe, all the fantastic bands, great parties, the best gothic and post-punk music and so many wonderful friends gathered from across North America and Europe. We just had to return with a bang for our 10th birthday in 2025 and can’t wait to gather all our people together for an amazing weekend of music, celebrating our scene. All the artists have been carefully hand-picked, to bring some legends of deathrock and post-punk to New York, along with newer names in the goth and post-punk scene who are captivating audiences with great live shows.
