Jihad - "Retrospekt"
Electro-industrial legend Jihad has returned to the scene with a brand new ten track album titled "Retrospekt"! This is phenomenal and clean industrial that has been well produced; a lot of love went into it and I'm already gushing over the album. While our full thoughts will likely be poured into a review further down the line, you can stream the album directly below:

I Ya Toyah - 'It's No Good'
Some of the best moments writing for this site for the past eight or so years is watching new bands and projects bloom and grow into an unstoppable beast. This feeling lunges forth to the one woman machine I Ya Toyah. We've been following them from the start and it's been phenomenal watching the project attract so much attention and rightfully so. She's just released a brand new single titled 'It's No Good' which is a cover of one of I Ya Toyah's favorite Depeche Mode songs. Check it out below:

spankthenun - "VIRUS"
Electro-industrial project and nun spankers spankthenun have released a brand new EP titled "VIRUS". The project covered KMFDM's song of the same name for the EP and included a COVID version, a 90s hip hop beat version, and an instrumental version on the EP. They also released a pretty cool looking, COVID-19 inspired T-Shirt alongside the EP. You can check it out / purchase it directly below:

Dreams Burn Down - "The Way Back"
Scud Viney does not stop creating projects in their ever persistent effort to dominate every single dark electronic genre in existence. Diffusing EBM stereotypes in Caustic Grip, smacking down electro-industrial beats in Deader, and doing it all over again with Ritual and Repetition was not enough. Now they are looking towards darkwave and synthpop with Dreams Burn Down. It's inevitable that this EP gives nods to the producers previous efforts. Nonetheless, you can stream it directly below. It is due out on June 1st, 2020.

Swansect - "Labyrinthitis"
Experimental industrial project Swansect is back with another collection of noise (not that non-stop, static bullshit nonsense that is related to the noise genre, though). "Labyrinthitis" offers up a series of selections made from objects within their immediate surroundings such as paint brushes, coke cans, and cardboard. It certainly does not sound like it, however. Give it a shot; it's a bit ominous and well done.

The Anix - 'Hideaway'
New electrorock from the Anix has just landed in the form of 'Hideaway'! I don't really know what else to put beyond that so, I mean, the links below and the song is pretty good. Check it out.

51 Peg - "Cut The Wire"
51 Peg is a synthrock band from Washington D.C. who just recently released a three track EP titled "Cut the Wire". They've been around since 2000 and have shared the stage with bands such as Orgy and The Birthday Massacre. They've recently made their return to the scene with 2018's "AVOID" and is currently available on Bandcamp. You can check it out below:

TGF ft. General Kangaroo - "General Kangaroo SGS feat. TFG (TONTTU)"
This three track EP features the General in the fight against the gnomes TONTTU as well as the titular General Kangaroo. These two industrial music lovers go hand in hand crafting EBM beats. Thus they have gathered together and released a small, three-track EP which you can check out below:

Urze de Lume - "Histórias de Lobos - Entre o Lume e a Escuridão"
Back in 2017 I had the pleasure of reviewing Urze de Lume's "Vozes na Neblina" which was a pretty good dark, neo-classical album. They seem to be turning a few heads this time around diving into black metal territory but still maintaining a fair bit of folk influence. You can check out the first song from the album and pre-order it directly below:

Distant Stars - "Car Crashes and Heart Attacks"
From the minimal minds of Distant Stars comes "Car Crashes and Heart Attacks", a three track EP off of Detonic Recordings. The EP is available at a wonderful price of either free or pay-what-you-want, and the psychedlic and twisted electronic music on offer is worthy of checking out. Stream the EP directly below:

Turmoil Chain - "EP.2"
As the not so subtle title of this release may suggest, this is the second EP from Turmoil Chain. Based out of Sacramento, California this one man band focuses on industrial, darkwave, and breakbeat music often forming an experimental sonic journey for the "mad times". Nonetheless, this EP was released earlier this year in February and is available to stream / purchase directly below:

Shed Skin - "Carrion[U]_a"
Shed Skin is an experimental project in the realm of industrial and gothic textures who have released their brand new EP whose title can be read above on Bandcamp. It has been released in both digital and limited to 20 cassette formats. You can purchase / stream the album directly below:

Peter is Dead - "Assassin of Youth"
Experimental and industrial project Peter is Dead (ironically headed by Savanna Savage and the very much alive Peter Garlowgb) have just released their brand new EP "Assassin of Youth". Exploring psychedelic sounds mixed with gothic and ambient influences, the five track release can be listened to and purchased directly below:

Rinkaku - 'Limbo'
Rinkaku is an experimental project with Japanese and American origins. While the project originally homed around trance music they have since expanded their electronic influences to include gothic, synthpop, ambient, and noise music. Either way, you can check out their latest single 'Limbo' directly below:

Scenius - "Held"
Synthpop project Scenius has released a brand new single titled 'Held'. While slower and more melancholic than their previous efforts, it is still a beautiful and ambient electronic meditation to behold. You can check it out directly below:

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
