Suicidal Romance - Shattered Heart Reflections

'Shattered Heart Reflections' is the second album from Estonian Suicidal Romance and it was produced by Vasi Vallis (Frozen Plasma/Reaper). The production value is actually also one of the great things with this album. The production and mastering is amazing.
For those who are unfamiliar with Suicidal Romande, they combine danceable beats with the harsh voice of Dmitry together with the beautiful voice of Viktoria. The music by Dmitry is well composed and backing up the vocals in a great way. Not taking over, not to distant, just the way it should be.
Suicidal Romance is at its best when they voices of both Dmitry and Viktoria is combined, like in the track "Love Stays The Same", which is also my favourite track of the album. I also found a track to have a love/hate relation to, the third track "Words That Change Everything". The music is great and the robotic sample is awesome, but Viktoria's refrain sounds a bit too cheesy and pink fluffy clouds for my taste. Still, I can't get the refrain out of my head. And I hate it... and love it.
Luckily, there's no more love/hate to be found on this album, only a whole lot of liking. "Touch", "Make Me Blind" (if Viktoria takes just one higher tone in the refrain, I think my iPod Touch will explode, in a good way) and "Her Song" are true examples of this together with the earlier mentioned favourite "Love Stays The Same".
'Shattered Heart Reflections' is all and all a great album and you should really check it out. May 10 2010
