Distractions Electro, Electrorock Miss FD Distractions by Miss FDIt’s no hidden secret that I’ve been adoring Miss FD’s cyber-electro renaissance that’s been defining her sound for the last couple of years. A back-to-roots movement that’s continuing with her latest single ‘Distractions’, a single that discusses misdirection; how one event will become widespread to keep our attention off another. A classic dystopian technique, but one that’s been employed by governing bodies and sociopaths since the dawn of the new age. And the music on this single hits the nail on the head. A gritty but danceable industrial beat grooves from the get go. Miss FD employs short phrased lyricism, cartoonish and over exaggerated in her delivery; fitting for the theme. Clownish laughter, alarm bells are rung, and circus music all collide in the single. There’s even a moment where the song breaks down for a moment of goth bliss around the two-and-a-half-minute mark where Miss FD hits back with her classic chords before heading right back into the beat with her stating, “Another distraction” over and over again. A fourth wall breaking moment that is quite clever. No surprise here; another killer single from one of the best underground performers in our scene. There’s a music video for this single that adds more flavor directed by Azalea Jeanette, which can be streamed directly below.  450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
