MINIVIEW: Nations Reborn Harsh EBM, TBM BlakOPz BlakOpz's "As Nations Decay" stood out to me in the gigantic pool of talent DWA has offered. I loved the themes that both Alex and M. Weir were able to stuff into their album. The anger and frustration they have with current political, media, and social issues were all blasted into hard dance tracks. It wasn't an album for the normal, everyday dancefloor crowd; this was the sort of album meant to get your blood boiling and your boots stomping. Now, the magic continues with "Nations Reborn", a wonderful setlist of fifteen remixes based on tracks from their much praised album. While three of the tracks were previously available on the first CD of the physical release (the Aesthetic Perfection, Cryogenic Echelon, and Alter Der Ruine tracks), the majority are brand, spanking new remixes that just came out on the 2CD reissue of "As Nations Decay". This second, remix disc titled "Nations Reborn" has sent shockwaves through my core as one exhilarating  piece comes after the next. Stand out remixes include Alien Vampires remix of 'Long Live The New Flesh', which speeds up the beat and makes it killer, Wychdoktor's, for the majority, instrumental turn on 'Business As Usual', and Ruinizer's strikingly hard touch on 'Thick As Thieves'. "Nations Reborn" is another fantastic collection of remixes from DWA, and, as usual, any DJ or fan of this label or genre of music is in for one hell of a treat.   450

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
