Electro pioneer Gary Numan has released a brand new single/video titled 'My Name Is Ruin' taken off his upcoming album Savage (Songs From A Broken World). The gorgeous music video shows off a post-apocalyptic landscape set in the desert with Numan wandering to an old shelter. Partnered with his daughter Persia who contributes her own vocals and directed by Chris Corner of IAMX, 'My Name Is Ruin' is an aurally enchanting adventure of distorted guitar pedals and Numan's signature style. You can stream the video directly below:

Savage (Songs From A Broken World) is meant to be an apocalyptic tale after global warming has set in with a majority of the world covered in desert landscapes. Food, water, and overall life is scarce, while Western and Eastern cultures have merged not out of tolerance, but out of the need to survive.

The songs are about the things that people do in such a harsh and terrifying environment. It's about a desperate need to survive and they do awful things in order to do so, and some are haunted by what they've done. That desire to be forgiven, along with some discovered remnants of an old religious book, ultimately encourages religion to resurface, and it really goes downhill from there. -Gary Numan

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
