Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb and Cyrusrex Form New Project Black Line
Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb and producer/engineer Cyrusrex have formed a brand new collective in Los Angeles called Black Line. Black Line was born as a spiritual successor to McCarthy and Cyrusrex's former project DJM|RMX. The project is aiming to include a bunch of collaborations with many names throughout the scene including Bon Harris (Nitzer Ebb), Paul Barker (Ministry/REVCO), Christian Eigner (Depeche Mode), and Mark Walk (Skinny Puppy). You can check out a couple of preview tracks from Black Line's upcoming album Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities directly below:
Douglas and I were continually adding people to the recording and live process, and got tired of having it be so much about us with DJM and REX as the initials. With Black Line, a majority of the songs were initially composed with just me and Douglas as DJM|REX, and then we continually found ourselves having friends around working on various parts while hanging out. This is when we decided to rename, and Douglas came up with the name Black Line. -Cyrusrex
Treason, Sedition, and Subversive Activities is set to release on May 26th with their first live show set for early July in Los Angeles. For more on Black Line check out their Official Website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

info@brutalresonance.comI've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
