Various Artists - "Powersynth (vol.01)"
JST Records is proud to present one hell of a hard synthwave compilation titled "Powersynth (vol.01)". A collection of tracks from noteworthy producers in the field such as M.A.D.E.S., Waveshaper, Irving Force, and Shredder 1984, this eighteen track collection is a banger. The cover art has some serious cyberpunk vibes as well, with a Dredd meets Robocop like character standing in front of a cast of wonky looking characters. You can purchase / stream the comp directly below:

XDZVØNX - "EVERYTHING WE DREAMT ABOUT"
This is another one of those projects that's going to be hard to pinpoint; they have a lot going on for them in an album's worth of songs. Inspired by brutalist architecture and glitch art, the project has elements of darkwave, glitch, lo-fi sounds, 8-bit, witch house, and so many other genres sprinkled about. Most of the songs are short little blasts of fun lasting no longer than three-and-a-half minutes long at any given time. Check'em out. They're interesting to say the very least.

Neurobash - "2K2X"
EBM / dark electro project Neurobash has released a brand new album titled "2K2X" on all major digital platforms. That being said, you should disregard most other platforms and just grab it on Bandcamp as the band is offering a few extra bonus tracks on the music site. Plus, supporting the band directly is always a nice thing, ain't it? Go ahead and click the play button below and order it if you like it!

Swansect - 'Kaldt Kapell'
One thing that I heavily enjoy about projects like Swansect is their never-ending exploration into sounds and genres that fans would never expect. Case-in-point: they've just released a brand new single titled 'Kaldt Kapell'. Though described as a post-punk inspired single, I can't help but relate it to southern USA Gothic rock; I feel as if driving through haunted Louisiana Bayous while playing this would make for a rather spooky experience. Also, this is a new single off of an upcoming album "Concrete Doves" due out later this year. Either way, enjoy:

On Interrupt - "Time as a Physical Space"
On Interrupt has been covered in the past before on Brutal but as a refresher they are a combination of dark synth and EBM music rolled into one with a horror / sci-fi atmosphere about them. They're genre is not just limited to the EBM and dark synth spectrum, however, as haunting synths akin to witch-house and industrial like beats permeate the new EP as well. Check out "Time as a Physical Space" directly below:

Blank - "Drifting Slowly"
This is an Italian project that explores all forms of dark electronic music from industrial experiments to synthpop like beats. Nonetheless, the thing that brings all of Blank's music together is their love of the synthesizer! "Drifting Slowly" is the project's brand new album that is due out on May 30th, 2020. So far, two tracks are available for streaming including the title track featuring the vocals of Elena Alice Fossi, as well as 'Struggle Between Death And Night'. Check it out:

Biomechanimal - "Haksal (학살)"
A new EP has been dropped by Biomechanimal, the electro quartet blending sounds from all over the electronic spectrum into whatever filthy mix they so desire. This EP is fronted by the title track and comes with remixes from Social Kid and rhythmic noise favorite ESA. Also, the Akira inspired cover art is DOPE. Check it out:

evicshen - "Hair Birth"
This is a very interesting release to say the very least; industrial and noise musician evicshen has a new album "Hair Birth" releasing on July 17th, 2020. Instead of me trying to explain how the physical LP was made, I'm just gonna copy and paste from the press release, "The artist has handmade the record jackets and hooked them up to a copper coil so that the LP jacket acts as a functional speaker that you can hook up to your receiver or record player." Pretty neat, huh? Anyway, you can purchase and stream the album directly below:

STAHLSCHLAG - "Freizeitlärm 2.0"
The second volume in dark electro and industrial producer STAHLSCHLAG's series of remix and rarities collections is out now. Featuring twenty-two tracks in total and available to purchase / stream in its entirety on the Crunch Pod Bandcamp, I need not say more. Check it out:

Das Mörtal - 'Wicked Desires'
Das Mörtal may be a name familiar to all by now who dive into the synthwave scene; his album "Hotline Miami II" has garnered praise and millions of streams worldwide due in part to the exquisite production on display as well as the tie-in to the hit independent video game. Anyway, the project has just released a brand new single titled 'Wicked Desires' which can be streamed / purchased directly below:

The Healthy Dead - "The Healthy Dead"
Coming from St. Catharines, Ontario The Healthy Dead is an industrial rock project mixing in elements of alternative music, EBM, and electro into their music. While not much else is available on the project you can check out their debut and self-titled album directly below:

Cameraoscura / Stone Wired - "Paenitentia / Fatality"
This a split release from dark ambient act Cameraoscura and death industrial act Stone Wired. The release is set to have two fourteen minute tracks from each artist and will be released in a limited edition cassette format. The cassette is limited to 30 copies worldwide, so if you want one that bad you should probably hop on it immediately. You can purchase / stream the album directly below:

Nimh & Rapoon - "Post-Folk Lore Vol. 1"
Respected artists within the experimental and dark ambient scenes Nimh and Rapoon have collaborated together to release "Post-Folk Lore Vol. 1" via record label Winter-Light. Both producers shared their recordings digitally from their respective homes in the UK and Italy to create this four track album that lasts around an hour. You can pre-order and stream it directly below:

The Warhorse - "BLEEDING WOUNDS UNEXPLAINED"
Synthpunk project The Warhorse has released a brand new, surprise quarantine EP titled "BLEEDING WOUNDS UNEXPLAINED". Though it is ten tracks long most of the songs on it last for less than a minute a piece. The longest song lasts for about two-minutes. Take it for what it is; it's a fun little blast of synthetic noise. Check it out here:

Nightcrawler - 'Nemesis'
Nightcrawler has released a brand new, stylish music video for their title track off of their new album "Nemesis". The description of it reads, "Lance Wagner is a famous billionaire pianist who lives a tormented life, immersed in his loneliness. He is only accompanied by his piano, with which he spends his days, confined in his mansion. Lance is an avid, obsessive art collector, as being a painter was always his dream but something he could never achieve. As a result of this frustration, inexplicable things happen every time his fingers press the notes on his piano." Check out the video below and purchase the album HERE.

ManifestiV - 'Just Wait'
This is a crowd-funded music video from electronic metalheads ManifestiV; the single was originally released on their 2018 album "God is a Martian". The video follows a deer and her family as they are swept from their peaceful lives as chaos confronts them. You can check out the video below and you can listen to the entire album over on Bandcamp.

Laura Schen - 'Under the Skin'
This single comes off of darkwave producer Laura Schen's latest album "Moonworld" which released in February of 2020. The music video is presented in a black and white palette featuring obscure visuals in a warehouse like environment. You can stream the video directly below and you can purchase the album HERE.

Paar - 'Modern'
While this is not a new release from the post-punk band it's still an eye-catching piece of visual art. 'Modern' comes off the band's album "Die Notwendigkeit der Notwendigkeit" which released on March 20th, 2020. The song now has an official lyric video. I could continue on with bland statements but instead I'll tell you that you can buy the album HERE and that you can stream it directly below:

Wladyslaw Trejo - "Tu Intimidad"
This feverish synthetic producer has just released a brand new song about quick sex and nothing more. The lyrics are explicit so perhaps this is not a song you want to be playing at work....Or do. I don't care. I can't control you. Anyway, 'Tu Intimidad' is the second single off of the project's upcoming EP due out on Polytechnic Youth later in the year. You can stream the video for the song directly below:

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
