#21 today: we are getting close to the Top 20 proper.

And we find another big name here, none other than the Seattle-based project ASSEMBLAGE 23 and his newest album 'Bruise', which marks an undeniable return to the true futurepop roots of the band which made it a household name of the genre.

After a couple of releases that didn't leave me much, Tom Shear is now back at doing what he does back: creating great pop tunes backed by electro-trancey soundscapes. And while futurepop has been pretty much "banned" from the alternative dancefloors in the past few years (even if there are more than simple rumors of a revival coming up in 2013?), DJs will find here something to fill their playlists as well, especially thanks to the remixes found on the limited edition.

Limited edition that also features a gem like "God Is A Strangely Absent Father", and the un-missable remix of "Rain Falls Down" done by Daniel Myer.

All in all a very solid album, which would have ranked way higher if it didn't have to compete with the heavyweights coming up next.

Suggested listening: Darkflow, The Other Side Of The Wall, Talk Me Down, Rain Falls Down (Daniel Myer Vancouver Tribute Remix)

PS: yes, I totally ignored I took another skip day yesterday?
