Ah, Valentine's Day. The hallmark holiday celebrated by couples around the world to express their undying love to one another through dates, sex, and (sometimes) arguments. In the case of trip-hop and electronic project Denial Waits, that also includes murder. The trio's song 'Father/Me' originally came out on February 1st, 2021 and is about "the deterioration of relationships and the desire for catharsis". The DIY music video, directed by Luke LeCount, is part love story and part horror / thriller featuring an unnamed couple. For being a low-budget production, it's made rather well. The chill-song behind it makes it all the more eerie. With that said, I would like to proudly premiere the music video for 'Father/Me'. Go ahead and give it a gander:

Denial Waits is a trio of artists who have never met in the real world. The band consists of Friendly Timo, Ryan Thomas Mitchell, and Amanda Jay. Their debut single 'Father/Me' released in February of 2021 and is available for streaming and purchase on Bandcamp. Following the music video, Denial Waits is currently writing and producing more material.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
