EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: IDM / Industrial producer Simone Lalli showcases his new double "Muta/Larva"
In March of 2020, IDM, experimental, and industrial producer Simone Lalli self-released his debut EP "Marefermo". Returning to the EP, like any good musician would do, Lalli had many thoughts as to how he should close out this portion of his career and move onto the next. Studying the EP, he eventually came up with the solution; a two-track release titled "Muta/Larva". Released in cooperation with AOR (Ammiratore Omonimo Records) - run by vonneumann - "Muta/Larva" serves as a transition period for Lalli.
Fabio Ricci of vonneumann, stated that, "By releasing Muta/Larva Simone adds yet another fundamental little brick in his personal path, a path of constant aspiration towards an unrivalled musical architecture. It’s almost like craving for a Platonic ideal. The fact that he is playing with a more organic palette, coupled with a surgical use of noise inputs, makes this his best work so far to my ears. I couldn’t have been more impressed and can’t wait to hear how he’s going to develop his full-length album." With that said, I would like to premiere "Muta/Larva". Stream it below:
"Muta/Larva" will be out on March 4th, 2021. All tracks were composed, performed, and mixed by Simone Lalli. Mastering was done by Taylor Deupree at 12k Mastering, while the cover art was made by both Lalli and Fabio Ricci. Lalli has also announced that he is currently working on a full length album.
