Industrial producers Hexadiode practically burst through the floor in 2016 when I first discovered them and their debut album "Ibex". Like any other promo that I get through Brutal, I clicked on the play button expecting something fitting of the site but not worth a full analysis and review. That was where I was wrong; I was hooked on the album the moment I made it to the ninth track 'Rive'. A riveting and destructive force of industrial bliss, the song itself and the entirety of "Ibex" was an exercise in analog control and machine manifestation. Since then, and aside from a remix album that appeared one year later in October of 2017, Hexadiode has been quiet.

That is until recently when I discovered the duo of Tim Krug and Jonah Miseh announced their new album "Metaxy". I was extremely pleased to hear this and immediately hopped on the opportunity to listen to the album as early as possible and it was not a mistake. Without diving into "Metaxy" too much (that will be saved for the review), we do have a special treat for all you industrial enthusiasts in the world. We're giving you a sneak peak at the album ahead of launch with the track 'Impulse Matrix' which can be streamed directly below!

Being the second track on the album 'Impulse Matrix' is quite the turn from what we've come to expect from their work on "Ibex". Noisier than ever and having an all around grittier sound this time around, what erupts is a mixture of stompy industrial beats, a punk vibe, and pure electronic bliss. "Metaxy" is due out on CD on September 20th (pre-order HERE) with the vinyl / digital versions coming later on October 31st, 2019 (pre-order HERE).

You can insert whatever master and servant power dynamic that plays with your sense of well being. But at it’s core, in my mind, the “impulse Matrix” is just a surrogate for reactionary behaviors on a societal level. A loss and forgetting of the grand scheme, and a disconnect from our potential. The harm these behaviors create, is critically self evident in our current day and age.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
