Atmospheric dark folk project Zeresh got its start in 2018 with their debut EP "Sigh of Sigh" on record label 999 Cuts. While not necessarily following the format of founder Tamar Singer's other projects Cruel Wonders and Necromishka, Zeresh cut its way into the hearts of those looking for a folk-meets-goth genre. Their bleak and daunting works can inspire images of low-lit rides through spooky forests on a horseback carriage; to me, I usually find myself thinking of depressing situations of a plagued medieval Europe. But everyone can gesture their own fantasies while listening to music; perhaps you shall find something inherently different in your imagination.

Nonetheless Zeresh has found their niche audience - with myself being one of them. That being said, we are proud to coordinate an exclusive premiere of Zeresh's brand new single 'The Ways of Death'. You can stream the single directly below:

'The Ways of Death' is the first single taken off of Zeresh's debut, full-length album "Farewell". The album will be released once more by 999 Cuts on September 1st, 2019 in both CD and digital formats. The lyrics of the song were taken from a poem by William Ernest Henley. Violins on the song were composed, performed, and produced by Sara Krasemann of Darkwood, with the mastering done by Ted Tringo of Autumn Tears.

"Farewell" is currently available for pre-order on Bandcamp

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
