The New Resistance Electro, Industrial Vigilante Vigilante is a pretty well known Latin American industrial metal act with quite a reputation up their sleeve (just recently the mastermind behind the band Ivan M got arrested while recording a music video to one of his tracks). The new album 'The New Resistance' is quite a special album mainly because it consists of a handful of different vocalist from both bigger and smaller acts like Leaether Strip, Die Krupps and so on. I think this move was really cool because it adds a bit of an extra touch to the tracks with both Ivan's own vocals and the guest vocalist with quite distinct voices. The music is very well produced with nice melodic synthesizers backed up by angry distorted guitars and drumbeats. This is really my kind of music because I used to be a metal head quite a few years back and mixing metal and electro is really great and there are quite a few bands that can actually pull it off (Vigilante being one of them). Either it's too much metal with some weak synthesizers in the back disappearing behind too much distortion or too much electro with a poor guitar in the background. If I have to pick two favorite tracks I would probably go for "Prison Break"and "The New Resistance", mainly because they have both a nice melodic part as well as being very aggressive. 450
