80's Revolution - Euro Disco Volume 2 Other Various Artists This two disc set, is a compilation of Synthpop, Disco, Italo-Disco and Europop put together by Adam Pokorny. And Adam is a passionate guy. To date, he has had his hand in 14 releases with 11 of them being retro compilations from the 80's. As a DJ starting in the early 80's, the whole euro disco/pop/dance stuff was the bread and butter of the local dance clubs. And I have to be honest and say that I know only two of the bands on this compilation. But research run through discogs makes me understand why. Most of the artists on this compilation and indeed in the scene itself at the time are one-time-artists. Producers would write tracks and then bring in and artists who were generally photogenic and had some sort of vocal ability and then record a tracks under a bunch of different names. And this style has been repeated time and again throughout the years. So what we have here is delightfully bouncy happy tunes about love and women and guys and boys and girls and most notably someone who has "The Eyes Of Don Johnson", possibly my favourite track if not for any other reason than the way that line is worked into the song. Look, its 22 songs and two and a quarter hours of nostalgia and if you are a fan of the genre then you will love this compilation because it is likely you've not heard one or more of the tracks or artists on it. I still do sets of retro like this and Hi NRG and its a bunch of fun, nothing more and nothing less. So is this compilation. 450

I've been DJing for 30+ years and been lucky to have done Dj support for Assemblage 23, Grendel, Nachtmahr, Shiv-r, Psyche, Icon Of Coil, among others. As Digital Anodyne I've written and remixed, Retrogramme, Leaether Strip, Rational Youth, Psyche, Pluvio, Arkyus and so forth. I'm a music fan of electronic music with a thirst to hear new music as often as possible. Writing for Brutal Resonance for the last 5 years gives me the opportunity to share that passion. music//DJ\\remix
