True Zebra Electro, Rock True Zebra True Zebra. Is it electro, is it rock, or perhaps pop? Could it perhaps be rock formed as electro or is it electro formed as rock? It is impossible put a label on it, but what I can firmly state is that Belgian True Zebra have made one amazing debut album called simply 'True Zebra'. To give you some sort of insight of what it sounds like, it's a later and softer version of Nine Inch Nails and perhaps a bit of Depeche Mode here and there, but then again, most defiantly not. It's strange and wonderful in its indefinable outfit. Kevin Strauwen's lyrics are simply amazing and you'll find an album filled with smart lyrics that make you want to go back and re-listen to what he sings, just to be able to snap up every single word. But is not only the lyrics, the music will keep you on your toes with sharp turns and cuts, together with some great melodies here again. It's hard to state any favourite track, because each and everyone of them brings something to the table, but the track that got stuck the most is probably "Everybody Needs" with my favourite lyrics "You are the one, that I would love to complain about. You are the one, that admire, to complain about. You are the one I need, you are the trash I need - Everybody needs someone, everybody needs a victim". Go buy this. Most amazing, un-EBM'ish, musical piece coming out from Belgium ever. 550
