Daybreak Dark Electro, EBM R010R R010R... a name that every fan of complex and dark electronic music should know by now. That also means, that everyone already has the reviewed single and is reading this just to check if we all feel the same. Well, I think I'm one of such people and I didn't even have to download the promo copy of this release, as I already bought it earlier. The single consists of two new songs and a remix from Brain Leisure. What can I say about it? Well first time when I listened to it, I was struck with how good it all sounds. The production is really TOP NOTCH. I'm not sure how much involvement from Basic Unit Productions guys this had, but the final result is really amazing. The sound itself is everything you can expect from R010R. Dark, heavy atmosphere. Wobbly sounds here and there (but no dubstep!), blips and clicks. Lots of LFO's on synths and dark vocals. The Brain Leisure remix is a bit more relaxed and light, but still with great atmosphere. (un)Fortunately R010R was and never really will be a popular project. Why? Because it's not music for people who enjoy music. It's for people who admire music. Who listen to it to feel special, to hear all the textures and amazing soundscapes it provides. You won't hear this in clubs and see people in gas masks dancing to it like crazy (then again maybe that's a good thing. At least nobody will joke about the fans and the band itself), but you will probably see quite a few of your friends listening to the single in the evening with lights turned out, trying to realize what they... should they do in life. 550
