Mr.Kitty - Fragments
Synthpop, New Wave Keeping his annual release schedule since 2011, Mr. Kitty is back with his new album 'Fragments', almost to the date a year after the release of 'TIME'. The big question is, can he keep up with this tight release schedule?

The answer to that would be both yes and no. His album 'Eternity' from 2012 was an amazing album, but during the coming year, something evolved that finally became the album 'LIFE' which is one of my all time favorite albums. The music evolved from the witch house tendency that was in his synthpop into more of a new wave attitude. Even though there was a small transformation between 'LIFE' and 'TIME', it seems that Mr. Kitty had found his way.

I can easily distinct the debut album 'D E Δ T H' from 'Eternity' and 'Eternity' from 'LIFE' and so on, they all have their distinct flavor, however, with 'TIME''s release and this new release, sounds start to merge together. It's almost a little shameful, being the self entitled fan boy I am, to admit that if you would play me a song from 'TIME' or 'Fragments', I would not be able to tell you which one of the albums they where released, just that it was from either of the two. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to evolve to something he's not, I freaking love Mr. Kitty. However, I've been spoiled with having pinches of new spice in each and every new release he makes, and I've started to expect it.

The upside of it all is that he continues to deliver high quality music and 'Fragments' is no exception. My favorite track of the album is the second to last track, "Cycle of Violence". Mr. Kitty has created a massive amount of great choruses and this track can easily stand proud within that mass.

Tracks like "Mother", "Entwine", "Shanghai", "I Lost You" and "In Your Blood" solidify this release, and the beautiful "Spirit of the forest" finalizes an overall great album. If you have not checked out this artist yet, it's about time. With five strong albums in as many years, he's one of the brightest stars in the new wave/synthpop genre at this moment.

'Fragements' is released today, the 25th of August 2015. You'll find a link to his Bandcamp on your right side.
