My Despair EBM, Electro In Strict Confidence I've been a huge fan of In Strict Confidence ever since the first time I heard their 'Angels Anger Overkill'-album, must be 10 years by now. I also liked the change they made in their sound during the period of 'Holy' to 'Seven Lives' to 'Exile Paradise', even though my favourite album is 'Mistrust The Angels' by far. With that said, I feel a little extra disappointed about In Strict Confidence's latest release, 'My Despair'. Continue your reading, and I will tell you why. First off, 'My Despair' is actually a habit forming track, you easily get the chorus nailed down in straight into your spine, BUT, my problem with the song is that it's to simplified, it's to mainstream, it's a popcorn version of In Strict Confidence, like the highway was picked instead of going the narrow road, the road that often leads to the golden treasure in the end. The "Clubmix" of "My Despair" is so similar to the "Single Version" that there's no point of writing so much about it. "Sono Remix" is a complete electronic meltdown, like a fire at a chip manufacture, cool idea, but I skip this one pretty much instantly. There's also a "Slowdive" version and the name says it all, it's a very much slower version of the original and unfortunately it only manages to bore me out. Finally there's an "Extended Version" as well, same, same, but not different, just longer. Part from "My Despair" and all its mixes, there's also two more tracks, "Feeling" and "Constant Flow". In "Feeling", In Strict Confidence's new female vocalist Nina De Lianin makes her debut performance and this is the best song on this EP, emotional and a have a wonderful sound to it. In "Constant Flow" we pounding guitars and I don?t think they really match the vocal style of Dennis Ostermann. The melody in the chorus is awesome, but that is also the only part I enjoy. When I write this, I'm very aware of the fact that this EP hit the 1st place on the DAC charts, In Strict Confidence have the ability to make everything they do to pure gold, still, I hope that the album turn out better than this though. 350
