21st Century Slave Electrometal Dope Stars Inc. The first album I heard with Dope Stars Inc. was their debut and that was a couple of years back. But I thought it was one of the best albums in that genre. And since then I've waited for them to make another great album, only to get disappointed. So here they are again with their third album called '21st Century Slave'. So is it as good as their debut? No, it's not. '21st Century Slave' is a mix of metal, punk and electro with both melodies and heavy riffs. The album starts off with the tracks "Omega Drones" and "21st Century Slave" which are two very metal influenced tracks and these two are followed by It's Today" and "When I See You Smile" which are more laid back tracks with great synthesizers and distorted guitar sounds and more singing and less screaming. I think that half of the tracks on this album are good and the other half is not good at all and feel much uninspired. Dope Stars Inc. started with a very creative and fresh sound but after two albums and a couple of EP their sound feels a bit watered out and boring. But as I stated before the five tracks I really enjoyed were really good ones. A good thing would be to stick to one sound and not try to mix too much between styles. 350
