Swedish electro-industrial act Blood Magick has released their brand-new album “Hexikon”. On the ten-track album Blood Magick has promised to return to its roots of occult electro-industrial. Bouncing back and forth between EBM, electro-industrial, and noise, “Hexikon” will inspire imagery of devilry. “Hexikon” is available on Bandcamp as a free download or as a “name your price” purchase.

Speaking on the album, Blood Magick stated:

I often use layers of sound to create a thick atmosphere. I have used various analogue synths and samples from movies. At times it is noise shaped into a rhythmic ritual sound wall. The music is inspired by esoterism, horror, anti-Christianity, and occultism. Several of the tracks feature ritual verses. The vocals take the shape of a demonic entity using distortion and, in a way, symbolizes a darker side of myself; I can express myself through art by creating music. The term "demon" is derived from the Greek word daimon meaning divine power, fat, or God. The actual translation of demon means "replete with wisdom" connoting that the demons were highly knowledgeable creatures, evident in their knowledge of an individual's sins. A hexikon is an occult lexicon, dictionary, or glossary. At various parts of the album, I felt the need to express the feeling of isolation, dissolving into nothingness as life has become meaningless. There was a point in time when Corona raged the heaviest and drained all my creativity. It felt like art in itself was dying within our scene. Through the endless cycle of suffering, chaos, death and sacrifice something new shall come and we are born again.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
