Quoted entirely from the DWA Press Kit (Which I'm not even going to try to improve upon):

It is the nature of a "Coup d'Etat" that it is seldom announced in advance. However, in this case, we make an exception.

Whether the end of the world is as nigh as some prophets of doom predict or otherwise, there can be little doubt that we currently live in tempestuous times. Art has a tendency to reflect its environment - therefore in the aftermath of the "Occupy" protests, continued rioting across Europe, the ongoing "Arab Spring" and the sabre-rattling across the Straits of Hormuz, it should come perhaps as no surprise that DETROIT DIESEL have chosen "Coup d'Etat" as the title of their new album.

Within the space of just one year the Canadian harsh-EBM duo's debut album "Terre Humaine" already established them as one of the key threats to the current leaders of the dark electro scene.

Instantly licensed to our partner Infacted Recordings for Europe, "Terre Humaine" garnered rich praise from fans and press worldwide - and continues to outsell every other DWA title!

3 months ago, in conjunction with new American label Industry8 we issued a sumptuous 2CD Limited Edition of "Terre Humaine" in digipak, including the remixes and rarities CD2 "Terre Inhumaine" - which is already almost sold out.

Now, with DETROIT DIESEL heading over to Europe for their first-ever "Club DeTour" in April (taking in Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Russia, Greece and the UK) it is time for regime change- in the shape of an all-new album!

Released in the EU on March 30 by Infacted, and in the rest of the world by DWA, "Coup d'Etat" is the logical progression of the sound of "Terre Humaine" - simultaneously recalling and refining that debut album's finest moments and pushing the envelope further.

For mixing and mastering, this time we turned to Kolja Trelle of SOMAN, who brings a rich resonance to the bass end of these club-friendly cuts.

For artwork, as with"Terre Humaine" we turned once again to Vlad McNeally to illustrate the unrest depicted in the album's lyrics.

For the Infacted version, we turned to 3 rising stars of the DWA roster - SURGYN, CYGNOSIC and VPROJEKT - for remixes exclusive to the EU edition.

For the DWA version, we enlisted TERROLOKAUST, CEDIGEST and GRENDEL - whose own new album "Timewave Zero" is due out on DWA shortly - for remixes exclusive to the DWA worldwide edition.

And for the DJs we made a special "Club d'Etat" - available as a standalone DJ-tool in card wallet, or bundled with the album in a strictly limited 6-panel digifile 2CD edition - featuring remixes from SAM, XP8, STUDIO-X and ELLIOTT BERLIN, plus (to create an altogether different kind of "bonus disc") 4 extended club mixes of those same 4 tracks by DETROIT DIESEL themselves!

March 30 is the date that the full "Coup d'Etat" will take place - but the revolution starts NOW.
Today, and every few days between now and March 30, DWA will release individual digital communiques from DETROIT DIESEL. One track at a time, one day at a time, "Coup d'Etat" will inexorably spread across all the major digital networks of iTunes, Amazon, eMusic et al -beginning today, EBM Day, with the opening track "Crash And Burn". DWA - changing your regimes since 2005.

The first 200 units of "Coup d'Etat" are presented in 6-panel digifile 2CD format, and released worldwide by DWA on March 30th.Pre-order (inclusive of FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING) is open NOW at 20% OFF the full regular 3000JPY pricetag...and remember, we are only making 200 of these babies - so once they're gone, they're gone...
