We got a brand new feature focusing on horror shorts, a couple of reviews, some news, and an interview for you this week. Check it out all below!

REVIEWS.

This week started off with a bang with Mesh's Looking Skyward kicking off the first review. While not quite as praised as previous releases on the site, the album still managed to get a solid 7.5 out of 10. Scoring the same number is the new collaboration project The Head of a Girl whose EP someplace somewhere rocked out well this week.

Respectively scoring a 7 out of 10 came both Mari Kattman's debut album Hover and Precious Child's ESCAPE which featured music from the Neil Gaiman biopic of the same name. The only album that scored low this week was Shadows & Mirrors' ARIA which got a 5 out of 10.

INTERVIEWS AND FEATURES.

Jaime has started a brand new weekly feature A Cut Above: Ten Exceptional Short Horror Films. While the title speaks for itself, she points out ten international short horror films that may have bypassed anyone. This is also perfect for anyone who wants to watch a horror film but doesn't have the time to watch a full length film.

In the land of interviews, Luke gave out another interview this week to Vandal Moon. You can read up on his post-punk and darkwave goodness by clicking the link provided.

NEWS.

Just posted today but still worth noting: unTIL BEN has announced a remix CD which can be bought via Bandcamp. You can also get it on sale right now for a ridiculously cheap price. Our friends over at Terra Relicta, the dark music magazine, has released a brand new dark ambient compilation with over fifty songs from fifty different musicians. Check that out for your fix of spiritual, horror, and sometimes Lovecraftian influenced music,

Fredrik Croona's latest outing Welcome Home is now available on digital platforms, so those of you who prefer digital downloads over physical copies should hop on that. And the last but biggest splash of news comes from Dependent records who have just recently signed Kirlian Camera and Spectra*Paris. Both groups are spectacular and I'm glad to see them have a new home.

And that's all for this week. We'll catch ya next time.

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
