To put it lightly, Black Earth is not a project for every schmuck walking on the street. Created from the best of the best of experimental music, noise creators, and the most twisted forms of black metal and dark ambiance in Spain from bands such as Suspiral and Sheidim, Black Earth has rose to prominence on their terrifying spouts of ancient language and ritualistic approach to music. As such, it is not a surprise that they have gained the attention of specialty record labels Sentient Ruin and Cyclic Law who are both well versed in a great many forms of harsh experimental music.

As announced earlier on Brutal, Black Earth is coming back with their sophomore album titled "Gnarled Ritual of Self Annihilation", a follow up to their debut LP "A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth". Attempting to describe the sound that comes forth from the album is a difficult beast to tackle on its own, which is why we've brought you an exclusive premiere of 'Lurking Hounds
Stagger in the Deep'. I'll shut it for now as you stream the song directly below:

A quiet build-up from start to finish, the sixth song on the album is as ominous as it is dreary. Echoing as it closes in around your ears Black Earth has made sure that this is a song that will require headphones. Vivid hallucinations might as well plague your eyesight as you sit in the dark listening to this song, wondering if the rifts in reality are just imaginary or actually real. Equally tantalizing yet harmonic, this ominous track is a perfect introduction to Black Earth's destructive music.

"Gnarled Ritual of Self Annihilation" will be distributed in the US on digital / vinyl via Sentient Ruin (pre-order HERE) and via Cyclic Law in the EU on digital, CD, and LP formats (pre-order HERE).

I've been writing for Brutal Resonance since November of 2012 and now serve as the editor-in-chief. I love the dark electronic underground and usually have too much to listen to at once but I love it. I am also an editor at Aggressive Deprivation, a digital/physical magazine since March of 2016. I support the scene as much as I can from my humble laptop.
